Bedford Boy Scout Troop 5 welcomes boys between the ages of 10 and 18, with or without prior Scouting experience! Currently, the Troop 5 membership includes 16 active Scouts ranging from Tenderfoot to Life Scout, and 8 Trained Adult Leaders. We are actively recruiting both Scouts and Leaders, with the goal of maintaining the membership in the range of 25 to 35 Scouts. Our goal is to stay at a level where we can maintain our focus on individual Scouts, and offer them the attention and leadership opportunities necessary for their personal growth and advancement. We believe that this individual focus is much more achievable in a smaller Troop.

Our Troop has the following goals:
        Stress Scouting skills and spirit.
Provide a positive environment for learning and advancement.
Be an outdoor troop stressing camping, hiking and backpacking.
Have at least one camping trip or day activity each month.

Troop 5 has a focus on training and development of the Scouts. After starting the Troop in 1992 with all Tenderfoot Scouts, we held our first Eagle Court of Honor in 1996. To date, our Troop has graduated 10 Eagle Scouts. The Webelos that joined us last year are currently Tenderfoot Scouts well on their way to achieving Second Class.
Activities for 2008 may include:
Annual Klondike Derby
Ski Weekend
Trip to Niagara
Trip to Hershey, PA
Jersey Shore Adventure

White Water Rafting
Spring Camporee
Falls Summer Camp
Hampton Beach Trip

Troop 5 is a “Boy-led” Troop where we strive to involve the boys directly in the proposal and planning of the Troop activities. Each year the proposed program of outings and camping trips is developed by the Scouts in the patrols and refined by the PLC before presentation to the Leaders and the Troop Committee.

Troop 5 is sponsored by the Bedford Rotary Club, and meets every Monday night from 6:30-8:00 pm (excluding non-school days) at the Bethany Covenant Church on Route 101 in Bedford. For more information, please contact:

Manchester, NH

Troop 135 has been chartered by Sacred Heart Church in southwest Manchester since 1946 and welcomes boys of any faith or denomination. We meet on Monday nights from 6:30 to 8:30 at either Sacred Heart Church (1 mile north of Hannaford’s) or, at Camp Carpenter.

We are a very active troop, offering many events throughout the year including; camping, whitewater canoeing, backpacking, bicycle trips and more. During summers, we offer one week at Hidden Valley Scout Reservation and, an annual “High-Adventure” trip. Traditionally, we participate in a Philmont Trek (the ultimate scouting adventure) once every three years.

The Senior Patrol, with the input of the Patrol Leaders plans the troop program and runs the weekly meetings. Behind them, with great support, is a large Troop Committee with many years experience.

Scouts and adult leaders alike wear the full “class-A” uniform with pride. Our goal as a unit is the same as the Boy Scouts of America's; to instill in our youth, the values of leadership and fellowship to their community, nation and friends around the world.

Troop 135 has served many Bedford boys throughout its history, many of whom have earned the Eagle rank. For more information or, to arrange a visit, please contact e-mail: Scoutmaster Darin Gagne or by phone at 622-1684.
